For Nannies and Domestics - Frequently Asked Questions

How long will it take to find the right position?
It is our goal to find you the right position as soon as possible, but on average the search for a nanny or domestic position takes 2-4 weeks. The length of your search is dependent on a number of factors including your previous experience, job requirements and availability of positions in your area. If you are looking for a position to start immediately, we will do our best to find you a position right away!

How much can I expect to earn and how often will I get paid?
The salary of each nanny is dependent on their experience and education. The average salary of a live-in nanny in Colorado is between $1800-2500+ per month. A live-out nanny makes between $2200-3500+ per month, again depending on their own qualifications and the number of full time hours required by their employer. Live-in nannies make less per month because the family provides room and board. If you are employing a part-time nanny, the hourly wage is between $12-16+ an hour.

What makes ABC Nannies & Domestics, Inc.® stand apart from other services?

  • We strive to provide excellent customer service that will keep you informed of our process on your search for a nanny every step of the way.
  • We have a reputation of finding the right nanny for families the first time.
  • Due to our screening techniques, we only represent the best nannies; those who are caring, dependable and reliable.
  • Furthermore, we provide you with nannies' applications and references BEFORE you meet with them, unlike many other services.

What kind of experience do your nannies need to have?
We require at least two years of verifiable child care experience before a nanny can register with our agency. We find that nannies with practical work experience and strong references work just as well or better than those with specific schooling in child care. Most nannies are CPR and First Aid certified. To see if you qualify, click here to review our candidate requirements.

Who withholds my payroll taxes?
Your employer (family) is responsible for state and federal payroll taxes.

Can I get references on your service?
Yes! We are happy to give you names and numbers of nannies who have used our service and encourage you to ask them all about us.   Also, please see our candidate testimonials page.
